Singapore Airlines first time experience SQ495 (DXB to SIN) βœˆοΈπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬

For the first time, I was able to experience Singapore Airlines, one of the few five star airlines in the world. It was a 7.5 hours travel time from Dubai International Airport to Singapore Changi Airport in a Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

This was my third time to travel “long-haul” the other two were roundtrip between Hong Kong to New York-JFK via Cathay Pacific CX830 and CX831 for 16hours!

The experience were virtualy equal. In-flight entertainment perks were the same. I just give it to SIA as they got bigger screens and a small monitor below (smartphone size) so you can watch movie WHILE monitoring your location on the maps. But Cathay Pacific got a rear camera feature so you can have a ground view while on air. You can have free earphones, toothbrush, toothpaste, pillow among the freebies.

The flight crews were both kind and attentive to my requests. Both looked professional and classy and SIA “lady crews” wear more affectionate in their tradtional attire.

Food? I am not sure if the total travel affects their serving and sete. In SIA, i got two set of full course meals (appetizer, main course, sides, dessert), dinner upon takeoff and breakfast few hours before landing. There’s no in between! The serving is too small for my apetite that day. Both serves wines, champagnes, ice cream, juices and softdrinks limitlessly but I remember how I “hoard” Cadbury, Peanuts, Hersheys from my Cathay Pacific. Haha.

Leg room is a bit okay in SIA as i feel more comfortable. They both got 3-3-3 seats on Economy Class.

Do not forget their ongoing promotion nowadays that if you fly with them you will get SGD 20 voucher that you can use anywhere in the airport on a one-time-purchase. You can get it in the iSHOP from the three terminals.

Frequent flyer programs. (KrisFlyer). Crediting of accrued miles is much faster than CX Asia Miles.

Finally, do not forget that if you fly with Singapore Airlines to any of their destinations, you will get a rewarding layover to the most awarded and one of the best airport in the world! Though Seoul’s Incheon and Hong Kong Airport have something to argue as its vis-Γ -vis contenders. I have been to Singapore last 2012 but I fly with a budget airline that landed in SG Budget Terminal (but still had good experience with it than most larger international airports) so it was also my first to use and to pass to its famous airport.

So until soon, SIA! βœˆοΈπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬

Good night from Singapore!
